Last week we had pleasure of participate in the Gala of Mazovian Innovator Contest. There were two categories: Innovative Company, Innovative Scientist. Innovation as you will see have many meanings, that are sometimes difficult to comprehend.
Photin submission as innovative company was:
Technology of compound semiconductors Indium Arsenide MOCVD growth demonstrated with two products:

  1. Magnetoresistive sensors grown for the Denmark Technical University purchased by dr Thierry Desire Pomar who wrote: “Extraordinary magnetometry: A review on extraordinary magnetoresistance” https://doi.org/10.1016/j.apmt.2024.102219

  2. Mid-infrared detectors in the 2-3.5µm range made of Indium Arsenide, and InAsSbP compound. Photin wafers were taken by Military University of Technology scientists, and processed into MWIR detectors.
Those MWIR detectors parameters exceeded the catalog values of commercial American, Japanese, Russian and Polish manufacturers.

Photin compound semiconductor MOCVD technology and products, must have provide a lot of brain ache to experts and judging panel, as they need to acquire some semiconductor knowledge to judge application.
We are very happy to widespread a little information about our semiconductor remarkable developments to wider audience. This year our innovation do not qualified for main prizes, but we were rewarded with distinction!

The 3 winners SME with cash prize are following:

  1. 30k PLN RDLS sp. Z O.O.: “Natural Wastewater Treatment Plants that operate on the basis of passive hydraulics and subsurface flow”. https://rdls.pl/

  2. 20k PLN Polblat Kopyt sp. J.: “New technology for the production of technological countertops for the production of concrete products by vibropressing”. https://polblat.pl/

  3. 15k PLN Baktrem sp. Z O.O.: “The technology of disposal of wood waste soaked in creosote oil”. https://bactrem.pl/
